Thanks For The Great Race Weekend

Postby tntosborn » Tue Jan 29, 2008 1:57 pm

I just wanted to give a big thumbs up to all you Utah BMXers for the great race weekend (Jan 25,26, and 27). My son and I had a blast. It was awesome to be able to race with six or more racers in my own age and skill group (28 & over Novice). Too bad my legs only let me keep up for half the track. Guess I need to do more sprints before our season starts. But man that was so cool not really seeing the racers around me but knowing they were there. Man I love BMX. My 6 yr old had a blast too even though he said he was freaked out when he had to race a full gate on Sundays final. I never tell him how many he has to race so he doesn't have time to be nervous before the race. Anyway, thanks again for the great weekend and we will see you again for your national race this summer. I promise I'll be able to hang with you for the whole track by then. Oh also, the dirt you guys had for that track was awesome. The grip it had was perfect.

Todd,

We are glad you had a great time. Ultimately that is our goal, for everyone who attends to enjoy themselves. We look forward to having you and your son back down again. Remember that we have two more weekends of great racing still to come.

Take care and good luck!

it was good to meet you Todd! I'm glad your trip was fun you guys. The crew that run Rad Canyon do an amazing job, huh? Maybe next time we'll have a chance to chase each other around the track.

Take care and come back soon!

Hey Steve, that grip... does it come does it come from all of the "organic matter" in the dirt? :? :o

Maybe it's another "organic matter" that has introduced confusion? :P

Oooooh! I see now. The "organic matter" has a little to do with it. I feel the key ingredient is the "TLC" that Dallas Edwards gives to the track. It couldnt be done without him, Melton, Mont and others who take time off work to come out to help. Their attention to the proper steps of the hand work have helped make this seasons indoor tracks some of the best.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the corners were absolutly killer. I carved all the corners as hard as I could in my main on Saturday & not once did I feel my bike slide.

Good work fellas. 8)

Yes, excellent job on the track! I'd love to be able to come down again before your indoor season ends to see if I could go into those corners (especially the first one) with a little more confidence. But I don't think I should push it with my wife. She was extremely generous to not only let me come down last weekend, but she also gave me the thumbs up to buy a new cruiser the week before which she is going to start to ride also. So I think I should spend a little on her this next month. Because then it will be time to start riding outdoor again and the Northwest Nationals  . Do you guys send alot of racers to that one?
Later,
Todd

You should post a 'track team roster' or something, a listing of all of the guys who are there building the track with you, so we can make sure we give them the proper pats on their backs...

Way to go guys! The track was, again, amazing!

Brent,

There is not much of a "roster", just a few fella's who devote their valuable time and elbow grease. We have a couple of drifters who make it out occasionally and help but the regulars are:
Jason Melton
Dallas "Berm Buffer" Edwards
Mont Allen

Utah BMXers, you are very lucky that you have hard working, dedicated volunteers such as these gent's.

Thanks boys!

I love seeing how the moto counts are up and even though I know very few people anymore, everyone seems to be having a great time as always.

Highlights for me were seeing the Allreds ( including mom and dad ) , Jonas and Lori Harmon, and Dave Halliday and kids. I had not seen faces like Justin Thompson literally in years and it is fun seeing riders like Clint, Katie, Dylan Collings and others come back and seeming to enjoy themselves.

So much hard work goes into a weekend like that from the track builders, to the anouncers and stagers, and all the volunteers and I know that it is appreciated by many. Thanks to all of you !
