Any word on his injury?

Thank you Lori and Jason. Bennett is doing fine. He is still in some pain, but his spirits are improving. The injury is a fractured ulna and a dislocated wrist. They expect four to six weeks in a cast and up to two months off the bike. No surgery is expected at this point, but follow-up exams will tell for sure.

I want to thank everyone who helped us out Saturday night and who called with words of encouragement. It is a true testament to how great the Utah BMX family is. Thank you all and we will be seeing everyone at the next indoor races!

I heard that Bennett was hurt and I was lost for words. I spoke to Tyler on the phone last night and told him and he was very sad for Bennett.
He sends his love from Arizona as I do from here and we missed everyone at the track this weekend. Good luck Bennett and we will see you at the track in a couple weeks.

Didn't really see it but I saw the aftermath. Hope he's doing well & he'll probebly be back in half that time. Could be alot worse, ya know?

Too bad he doesn't heal as fast as he races!
Glad to hear he's a tough one & look forward to seeing him back on the track!

Bennett went in for a follow-up visit yesterday and we received some great news. The cast comes off in four weeks and he can resume normal activity! I have no idea what "normal" means, but I am guessing he can ride.

I want to thank everyone for your incredible support. The outpouring of phone calls and emails this week has been incredible. We are very fortunate to have such an incredible community in Utah.

Thanks!
~Curtis

Have his doc clarify "normal". For that sort of fracture, normal might mean recess, snowball fights, and riding a bike, but not crashing on a BMX bike.

You just don't want to have him re-fracture at 4-5 weeks and start over.

Justin - Thanks and you are right. I was not at the actual appointment as I am in CA on business. I only got a brief update from my wife. I do seem to recall at the ER, the same orthopod told us that he would benefit by wearing a brace for the following month.

He did clear him to get back on the trainer this week, but said no falling. Also not sure about soccer and how that will pan out. I plan a follow up call to him today to get some of these things cleared up.

Thanks.

Bennett:

We're thinking of you as well. You and your family have been very good to us out here in Tooele and always supportive of Logan. Your encouragement to "keep riding" after his fall was very beneficial. We hope we can send the same kind of support and encouragement to you. Keep the spirits high. You'll be back quicker than you can imagine.
