Re: Bennett Newkirk wins IXS Rookies Cup

Steve, Thanks for the update and big congrats to Joey! Sounds like an excellent job by the crew from Utah. Crashes and collarbones aside, people know who the fastest is now Cody and Bennett have obviously trained together. The whole reason he went into the last round in a tie, as well as lost the fi...

Re: Bennett Newkirk wins IXS Rookies Cup

Thanks to both Steve and Bruce!

Please give us some insight into Mitch and Cody's DH exploits. How did the national championships turn out?

Bennett Newkirk wins IXS Rookies Cup

Hello Fellow Utah BMX Brothers and Sisters, Just a quick update. Bennett won the IXS Rookies Downhill Cup for the Kids 2 category (1998 and 1999 birth year). This was a eight race series over four weekends with three race weekends in German and one here in Switzerland. He had some battles and it was...

Re: Mitch Ropelato

This is a major bummer for Mitch. I know he was planning on racing the DH and 4X World Cup in Champery, Switerland this weekend as well as another WC race in Italy the following weekend. We were planning to meet the Ropelatos in Champery this weekend as so we are disappointed as well. Heal up Mitch,...

Re: Good Luck!!!

Hi Dan...my apologies. It has been a busy week with a busier weekend about to follow. I certainly appreciate the interest in pics and updates, but it may be next week before I can get to it. In the mean time, the kids all still love BMX. The only problem is that Mom and Dad are still trying to figur...

Re: Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the excellent update Dan! It is good to hear the "inside info" from so far away. I so wish we could have been there, but attending ABA nationals from Europe is not only very expensive, but also has time zone ramifications you are probably well aware of. Regarding Joey Forresta's...

Re: ABA GSL Nationals Pics

Thanks Jason. These pics make me homesick in a good way. I wish we could have been there.

Good job to all of the Utah riders and volunteers. Awesome job of representing the state and the track.

Re: Good Luck!!!

Hi Pattersons,

Congrats on an awesome weekend. Just looking at the results it looks like Robby and Daniel tore it up! Robbie almost had a perfect weekend and that is rare!

Good job to the rest of the Utah crew with some great wins and mains. I wish we could have been there!

Your old pal,

Curtis

Re: Anybody going to Miller for World Superbike this weekend?

Hi Bruce,

How did the race go? I hope well. Across the pond I watched Spies win a ton of races, but this year I have not seen him in anything. Maybe this is from lack of focus on the sport or TV, but still...

So who won? Give the report my friend!

Nuttin' but respect for you guys.

That's some pretty good jumping from some guys who are a little long in the tooth!

Re: Hayden Brown in the BMXer

That is awesome Wayne. Hayden has gone far past anything I would have thought he would have done in the past year. Truly incredible and he is showing no signs of slowing down.

All the best to you guys. Hope we bump elbows soon.

Cheers,

Curtis

Happy Birthday my friend. Bennett and I were discussing manual/wheelie DH technique the other day when I said: "Mike told me that..."

You are a great friend and mentor. Have a good one old guy :)

Re: Guthrie National update

Wow - Hayden has come a long way in the past year. It will be interesting to see how he continues to progress in a very difficult NAG group. He is already starting to knock off some top people, so this year looks very good for him.
