Did you pay for Your dirt? Where did you get it from?

What a cool idea. My wife would die if I put something like that in the backyard! LOL! I can't wait for the invite to the bmx social/bbq you'll be hosting in the back yard this spring when it's all done ;) Sounds like a great time!

I found the dirt for my track on KSL. There was a guy trying to get rid of a bunch of dirt from a lot in Draper just north of 12300 South near the Jordan River Parkway. They were giving it away free to anyone who could come pick it up. I knew I was going to need a bunch so the guy gave me the name of someone who had a 13 ton dump truck and a loader who was willing to deliver the dirt for $265. I'm sure there are places that you could get dirt brought in that would probably be much better suited for building a pump track, but the cost at the few places I found would have run 2-3 times what I paid for mine.

bringing this back from the dead. I got the green light from the wife, so I hope to get option 4 built before the snow starts flying.

I'd like to get back there this winter. I have too many hobbies in my life, so I kind of bounce back and forth between them. Once I can make it around the track a few times without wadding myself up I'll show up for a few races.

Nice to hear from you sixstrings! We built a pump track last fall. Lots of fun. Come and see it for a few ideas.

I'm excited, I'm getting 10 yards of dirt delivered tonight. Digging party tomorrow.

We did a ton of work on Saturday with not a whole lot to show for it. :D A HUGE thanks to my buddy Kyle for digging for over 8 hours. We moved 12 yards of dirt.

We got a complete 180* berm, and 4 rollers. It's already super fun to ride. We'll be digging tonight and Tuesday night as well. Tonight we'll be adding a step-up. This is hands down the most fun pump track I've ever ridden before. I'll take some pics tonight.

I need to find my GoPro. The pump track is turning out great. 8 rollers and 2 berms so far. Some buddies and I rode it for about 5 hours on saturday and had a blast. I'll get some pics up.

I took this pic at lunch:

And I found the GoPro. I'll have to do a video next time we ride it.

It's getting close. We moved 11 yards last night. 9 left to go.

We're still undecided on how to do the 180* at the end of the track. Our current 180 is pretty tight, and you lose a lot of speed on it. I'm open to suggestions.
